What Are Serology Tests?

Serology tests are laboratory examinations that detect antibodies or antigens in blood samples (serum). What is RF?

Latex Serology Test Procedure

  1. Drop 50 µL of patient serum onto the slide card circle
  2. Add 1 drop of latex reagent next to the serum
  3. Mix with a disposable stirrer evenly
  4. Gently rock the slide card for 2 minutes
  5. Read the results under bright light — agglutination = positive, homogeneous = negative
  6. For quantitative titers, perform serial dilutions and repeat the procedure
