SCLAVO HDL Cholesterol Precipitant: Magnesium and dextran sulfate precipitate all serum lipoprotein fractions except HDL. After centrifugation, HDL remains in the supernatant. The amount of cholesterol in the soluble fraction is then determined by total cholesterol with enzymatic reagents.
