Introduction
In vitro test for quantitative determination of Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) in plasma and serum. Principle: Kinetic determination of Alkaline Phosphatase activity according to IFCC (International Federation of Clinical Chemistry) recommendations. The method uses 4-nitrophenyl phosphate as a substrate. Under optimal conditions, ALP present in the sample catalyzes the following transphosphorylation reaction: The reaction is monitored by measuring the increase in Abs. at 405 nm, which is proportional to the ALP activity in the serum.
